The Alfa Romeo brand, which since 1910 has carried the nobility of the Italian sporting spirit in its DNA, announces a radical evolution with the Tonale model, aimed at a new era of connectivity and electrification.

The name Tonale stands for the developmental continuity of the Stelvio model, a fascinating new path that leads to a new destination: into the future. It brings an unmistakable Italian style that faithfully follows its origins, the latest technology and electrification systems; all this designed in accordance with the character of the brand. Tonale comes with a clear mission: to redefine sportiness for the 21st century.

The new model is manufactured in Italy, in the renovated "Giambattista Vico" factory in Pomigliano d'Arco near Naples. The factory is one of the most advanced in the world of the automotive industry; the assembly line dedicated to the production of the Tonale model is built with the most modern technology and the highest level of automation.

The Tonale, which measures 4.53 m in length, 1.48 m in width and 1.6 m in height, brings a sporty interior and equipment with state-of-the-art technology, the aim of which is to enable an exceptional driving and user experience and to maintain a high residual value of the vehicle. Tonale is also the first vehicle on the market whose ownership can be shown with NFTs (non-fungible tokens), which is a world first. Tonale NFT, based on data block chaining technology and with a single connection, certifies the vehicle at the time of purchase, and then stores all information about its use and maintenance, which ensures its authenticity and maintains a high residual value.

Technology with second-level ADAS systems ensures safety and comfort in the vehicle. The interior is designed for maximum passenger comfort, with a refined sense of detail and quality of materials. Superior connectivity and an all-new infotainment system that allows for wireless updates and integration with Amazon Alexa and two large color TFT screens make the Tonale stand out in its class.

The Tonale comes to the market as an e-torque hybrid with a 1.5-liter engine and a 48-volt electric motor (15 kW (20 hp) and 55 Nm) and a system power of 69 kW (130 hp) or 118 kW (160 hp) and a new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or as Q4 plug-in hybrid; both provide class-leading performance. Exclusively for the first time, the hybrid version uses an all-new 48-volt hybrid drive system, designed specifically for Alfa Romeo and able to drive the wheels even when the internal combustion engine is switched off.

The plug-in hybrid version with four-wheel drive Q4, with a 1.3-liter engine and a 90 kW electric motor on the rear axle, delivers a system power of 202 kW (275 hp), accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and brings the best characteristics in its class, and its expected range in electric mode is up to 80 km in the city cycle. It is the most powerful and efficient version in the range.
